Primary type information:
Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Dlussky, 1967a: 74). Primary type locality: lectotype Russia: Orenburg, Chelyabinsk County, Lake Sary-Kul, viii.1894 (M.D. Ruzsky). Primary type depository: ZISP.
Type notes:
1) Locality in original description: “found by me [Ruzsky] on the Sary-Kul saltmarsh”. 2) Seifert & Schultz, 2009b: 271, imply that the lectotype is lost.
[Note: the decisions by Seifert, 2007, and Seifert & Schultz, 2009b, render all earlier taxonomy untenable, and left the previous junior synonyms of Formica glauca in taxonomic limbo. The inclusion of Formica glauca as a species-rank taxon in the Bulgaria catalogue of Lapeva-Gjonova et al., 2010 is not considered to be a statement of change in taxonomic rank, but the resurrection by Radchenko, 2016: 304-306, achieves this purpose.]
