Myrmica montana Labram & Imhoff, 1838: pl. 36, figs. 1-3 (w.q.m.) SWITZERLAND. Palearctic.

Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype worker, syntype queen, syntype male (each illustrated). Primary type locality: Switzerland: “mountainous region of our country” (no further data). Primary type depository: unknown. Type notes: 1) No indication of number of specimens is given. 2) According to Horn & Kahle, 1935: 121, Imhoff material is in MCZC and NHMB, but their publication has no entry for Labram.

Status as species: Mayr, 1853c: 110 (redescription).
