Primary type information: Primary type material: 45 syntype major, media, minor workers, 1 syntype queen, 1 syntype male. Primary type locality: Philippines: Negros Oriental, nr Dumaguete, 1500 ft (nest collected ca 13.v.1924) (J.W. Chapman). Primary type depository: MCZC.

Subspecies of Gesomyrmex luzonensis: Cole, 1949a: 76 (in key); Chapman & Capco, 1951: 208 (error).
