Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Wilson, 1958g: 333). Primary type locality: lectotype Papua New Guinea (“Nova-Guinea, Colonia Germanica”): Hansemann Mts (L. Biró) (by restriction of Wilson, 1958g: 332). Primary type depository: HNHM. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 1 paralectotype worker. Secondary type locality: same as for lectotype. Secondary type depository: MCZC. Type notes: 1) Other original syntype localities: 1 syntype queen (perhaps with same data as the lectotype?). 2) Syntype workers Papua New Guinea (“Nova-Guinea, Colonia Germanica”): Tamara I. (L. Biró). 3) Baroni Urbani, 1973b: 138, cites 1 worker syntype in NHMB from Sattelberg, Huon Gulf; this is not type material.
