Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype queen (badly damaged). Primary type locality: South Africa: C.G. Hope (= Cape of Good Hope) (no collector’s name). Primary type depository: BMNH. Primary type specimen: CASENT0900680. Type notes: Type locality is incorrect as Paltothyreus tarsatus is absent from South Africa, the specimen is probably mislabeled.
