Primary type information: Type-material: 3 syntype workers, 2 syntype queens. Type-localities: 3 workers, 1 queen Cuba: Cienfuegos, Soledad, Limones Seboruco, 4.viii.1933, berlese funnel (N.A. Weber), 1 queen with same data but vi.1929 (P.J. Darlington). Type-depository: MCZC.

Status as species: Wheeler, 1937b: 458; Kempf, 1962b: 20; Kempf, 1972b: 228; Alayo, 1974: 18 (in key); Bolton, 1995b: 381 (error).
