Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype workers (number not stated, “many”), 3 syntype queens. Primary type localities: U.S.A.: California, nr Lake Tahoe, Tallac (W.M. Wheeler), and nr Lake Tahoe, Glen Alpine (W.M. Wheeler), California, Yosemite Valley, Camp Curry (W.M. Wheeler). Primary type depository: MCZC. Type notes: 1) Snelling et al., 2014: 73, cite 6 worker syntypes in MCZC. 2) Wheeler, 1917a also mentions a series of workers plus 2 queens from California, Volcano Creek (J.C. Bradley); it is not certain if these should also be regarded as syntypes.
