Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Brazil: (no further data) (H.W. Bates). Primary type depository: BMNH. Primary type specimen: CASENT0900232 Type notes: 1) Originally there was apparently more than one specimen as Smith, 1853 says “In the Collection of the British Museum, and of my own”. 2) In their revision De Andrade & Baroni Urbani, 1999: 141, cite only a single (holotype) specimen in BMNH.
