Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of MacKay & MacKay, 2010: 204). Primary type locality: French Guiana: Cayenne (Le Blond?). Primary type depository: MHNG. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 1 paralectotype worker, 2 paralectotype queens. Secondary type depository: MHNG. Type notes: 1) This taxon is based on material originally recorded as Atta flavicornis Fabricius, 1798, sensu Latreille, 1802a: 202, pl. 7, figs. 42B, 43 (misidentification). 2) The sole locality mentioned is Cayenne (French Guiana), not Suriname as recorded by MacKay & MacKay, 2010: 204, and the original Latreille material should be in MNHN, not MHNG, which leads to doubt concerning the lectotype designation.
