Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype (?) worker. Primary type locality: Namibia (“Südafrika”): Swakop River (no collector’s name). Primary type depository: NHMW. Type notes: 1) No indication of number of specimens is given. 2) This taxon is based on the single (?) worker of Carebara hostilis Smith, 1858a, sensu Mayr, 1866b: 899, misidentification. 3) The original entry by Santschi, 1928f: 201, refers to Mayr, 1862, but Carebara hostilis Smith, 1858a does not occur in that publication.
