Type notes: 1) The designation by Rakotonirina & Fisher, 2022: 140, consisting of lectotype minor worker, 2 paralectotype major workers, 1 paralectotype minor worker, 1 paralectotype queen, 2 paralectotype males, Madagascar: Fianarantsoa (L. Besson), is redundant as this locality and collector do not appear in the original description. 2) The Besson specimens apparently derive from Forel, 1891c: 59.
