Primary type information:
Primary type material: lectotype minor worker (by designation of Rakotonirina & Fisher, 2018: 27). Primary type locality: lectotype Madagascar: “Centre and south of centre of Madagascar” (no further data (Hildebrandt). Primary type depository: MHNG (lectotype). Primary type specimen: CASENT0101543 (lectotype).
Secondary type information:
Secondary type material: 1 paralectotype major worker. Secondary type locality: Madagascar: Forêt d’Analamainty, nr Antananarivo (P. Camboué). Secondary type depository: MHNG. Secondary type specimen: CASENT0101545.
Type notes:
1) The original description does not mention a major worker, nor material collected by Camboué. 2) The Camboué specimen apparently derives from Forel, 1891c: 64, where Camponotus foersteri is incorrectly cited again as new; therefore the paralectotype designation is redundant.
