Type notes: 1) Other original syntype locality: Madagascar: Adampy, nr Vohemar, 1899 (G. Grandidier) (invalid restriction of type locality by Wheeler, 1922: 1042; no lectotype designated). 2) Original syntype series contained major and minor workers, and a queen.
