Primary type information: Primary type material: 2 syntype workers, 1 syntype queen. Primary type locality: Indonesia: Aru Is (one worker is labelled “Aru 30”), “1” (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depository: OXUM. Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 455, cites 1 worker, 1 queen in OXUM. 2) Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978, cites 2 worker, 1 queen syntypes in OXUM, all syntypes are labelled “femorata”, and the workers each with “worker 1” on their stage cards. The dissected mouthparts of another specimen are glued to two separate cards. 3) The number written on the stage cards of the worker specimens corresponds to the order of description of the four species by Smith, 1859a: 1 Podomyrma femorata, 2 Podomyrma striata, 3 Podomyrma laevifrons, 4 Podomyrma basalis (Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978).
