Podomyrma striata Smith, 1859a: 146 (w.) INDONESIA (Aru Is). Indomalaya.
Primary type information: Primary type material: 2 syntype workers. Primary type locality: Indonesia: Aru Is, Aru, “2” (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depositories: BMNH, OXUM. Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 455, cites 1 worker in OXUM. 2) Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978, cites 2 worker syntypes (BMNH, OXUM), each with the number “2” on their stage cards. 3) The number written on the stage cards of the worker specimens corresponds to the order of description of the four species by Smith, 1859a: 1 Podomyrma femorata, 2 Podomyrma striata, 3 Podomyrma laevifrons, 4 Podomyrma basalis (Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978). 4) The OXUM specimen is labelled “Aru 58/23”; the BMNH specimen is labelled only “striata Sm.” (with the number “2” on the stage card). It has a Donisthorpe “compared with type” label but is certainly a syntype (Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978).
