Primary type information: Primary type material: 4 syntype queens. Primary type locality: 1 syntype Indonesia: Irian Jaya, Dory, “Dor. 20” (A.R. Wallace), 3 syntypes Irian Jaya, Dory, “Dor.” (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depositories: BMNH, OXUM. Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 462, cites 1 queen in OXUM. 2) Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978, cites 4 queen syntypes (1 BMNH, 3 OXUM). 3) In the original description Smith, 1860b states that the type specimens are workers, but only queens of this taxon are present in his collection. It is assumed that he miswrote the caste in the description (Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978).
