Primary type depository: unknown (presumed lost, not in BMNH or OXUM). Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 461, cites 1 worker in OXUM. 2) Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978, did not find any type material in BMNH or OXUM. 3) A single worker in OXUM fits the description reasonably well and is labelled “striata,” but its locality of “M” (Misool I.) is incorrect, not the stated type locality.
