Primary type information: Type-material: syntype worker, syntype queen, syntype male (perhaps only one of each). Type-locality: U.S.A.: Carolina (error). Type-depository: MNHU. Type notes: 1) Baroni Urbani & de Andrade, 2003a: 251, found only 1 worker and 1 queen in MNHU; the male appears to be lost. 2) Brown, 1958g: 334, regarded this taxon as very dubiously present in U.S.A. Baroni Urbani, 1977d: 9, indicated that the type-locality should be Europe, adding that Carolina was certainly a labelling error.
