Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 447, cites 1 queen in OXUM (confirmed by Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978). 2) There is a specimen in BMNH that is incorrectly labelled as “type” of Stictoponera rugosa; it is actually a worker of Stictoponera menadensis Mayr, 1887 (Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978).
