Dolichoderus taprobanae var. siamensis Forel, 1911a: 46 (w.q.) THAILAND. Indomalaya.

Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype workers (number not stated), 1 syntype queen. Primary type locality: Thailand (“Siam”): Chiang Mai (no collector’s name) (received from G. Waldo). Primary type depositories: BMNH, MHNG, NHMB. Primary type specimen: CASENT0902975 Type notes: 1) Baroni Urbani, 1977e: 74, cites 1 worker syntype in NHMB. 2) Shattuck, 1994: 68, cites 6 worker, 1 queen syntypes (5w, 1q BMNH, 1w NHMB). 3) 4 worker and 1 queen syntypes in MHNG. These appear to be the only syntypes with full original labels including the full locality and microhabitat ('dans des fleurs'). 4) The worker in NHMB is from the Santschi collection and has a label reading "D. Taprobanae v. Siamensis For/ Siam (Waldo) Type", therefore lacking the specific locality but suggesting it may be part of the syntype series. [23 Oct. 2024; Z. Lieberman]
