Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Kyrgyzstan: Chuishkaya Valley, vic. Kalinina, 17.ix.1970 (Yu. Tarbinsky). Type depositories: NASK, ZMUM. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 5 paratype workers, 3 paratype queens. Secondary type locality: same as for holotype. Type depositories: NASK, ZMUM. Type notes: Depository of holotype is not specified.

Subspecies of Myrmica saposhnikovi: Bolton, 1995b: 277 (error).
