Myrmica rhynchophora Foerster, 1850 incertae sedis in genus, unidentifiable
Myrmica rhynchophora Foerster, 1850b: 488 (m.) ALGERIA. Palearctic.
Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype male. Primary type locality: Algeria: Algiers (no further data). Primary type depository: unknown. Type notes: 1) According to Horn & Kahle, 1935: 78, Foerster’s formicid types are in MNHU, but Seifert & Schultz, 2009b: 271, state that “According to our own search in German collections type material of Förster is completely destroyed”. 2) Radchenko & Elmes, 2010: 662, add that the holotype is apparently lost. 3) However, perhaps specimen(s) remain in MNHN as Foerster, 1850b (p. 486) thanks “Leon Fairmaire in Paris” for the specimens.
