Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype queen. Primary type locality: Indonesia: Sulawesi (“Celebes”), Menado (= Manado), “Men.” (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depository: OXUM. Primary type specimen: CASENT0235208. Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 468, cites 1 worker in OXUM. 2) Bolton, 1977: 99, Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978, points out that the holotype is a queen, not a worker. 3) The original description is titled “Worker,” but this is a misprint as Smith, 1861b mentions the presence of black ocelli.
