Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype workers, syntype queens, syntype males (numbers not stated, “plentiful”). Primary type localities: Permskaya guberniya [now Permskiy kray and partly Ekaterinburg region] (F.A. Folkman (Фолькман), A.A. Sсhtukenberg (Штукенберг), A.Ya. Gordyagin (Гордягин), E.I. Lyubarskiy (Любарский)); Vyatskaya guberniya [now parts of Kirovsk region and Udmurt republic] (V.A. Fominykh); Kazanskaya guberniya [now Tatarstan] (A.Ya. Gordyagin (Гордягин)); Ufimskaya gubernia [now Bashkiriya] (V.A. Arnol`dov (Арнольдов)); Simbirskaya guberniya [now Ulyanovsk region] (I.I. Sprygin (Спрыгин)). Primary type depositories: ZISP, ZMUM. Type notes: 1) Bolton interprets type localities as Russia: Permsk (F. Sht., Grd., Lyubsk), Vyatsk (Th.), Kazansk (Grd.), Ufimsk (A.), Simbirsk (C.), 1894 (no collectors’ names; probably M. Ruzsky). 2) Radchenko, 2005b: 160, cites 2 worker syntypes in ZMUM Russia: “Permskaya guberniya” (Perm). 3) Aibek & Yamane, 2009: 103, cite Russia: Povoljè as type locality, but this appears in the original description only as “in the Volga region [Povolzhi] it [i.e. Camponotus saxatilis] meets with Camponotus pubescens”.
