Primary type locality: lectotype Indonesia: Sumatra, Beras Tagi, and Bandar Baroe, 9.iv.-14.vi.1912 (H. von Buttel-Reepen). Primary type depository: MHNG. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 1 paralectotype major worker, 2 paralectotype minor workers, 2 paralectotype queens. Secondary type locality: same as for lectotype. Secondary type depository: MHNG. Type notes: 1) Eguchi, 2001a does not specify the Sumatran locality in which the lectotype originated. 2) Other original syntype locality: Malaysia: Malacca, Maxwell’s Hill, nr Taiping, 2.ii.-15.iii.1912 (H. von Buttel-Reepen). 3) Confusingly, Eguchi et al., 2007: 276, and Eguchi, 2008: 80, cite Maxwell’s Hill as the lectotype locality, which contradicts Eguchi, 2001a: 21.
