Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Brown, 1953g: 80). Primary type locality: lectotype U.S.A.: Alabama, Mobile, Spring Hill, 1.vii.1929 (W.S. Creighton). Primary type depository: USNM. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 3 paralectotype workers (4 syntypes mentioned in original description). Secondary type locality: same as for lectotype. Secondary type depositories: LACM, MCZC, USNM. Type notes: Brown, 1953g: 80, comments that about 25 workers from the type-nest series are in existence; these are also regarded as paralectotypes.
