Type notes: 1) Original type data: worker, queen, male syntypes (numbers not stated) France: Provence (Olivier?), depository unknown, presumed lost. 2) Earlier authors, up to Dalla Torre, 1893: 183, refer to Latreille, 1798: 43, as the author of this taxon, despite the fact that Latreille himself wrote “emarginata Oliv.”.
